Loved Ones Remember Fayette Co. Crash Victims
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A 16-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man who were killed in a crash in Fayette County earlier this week were remembered Sunday night.
It was a somber day for the folks of Bullskin Township, Fayette County.
The sound of crying could be heard during a vigil held for two young lives taken far too soon.
Tyler Wolfe, 22, and Kayla Wiltrout, 16, were remembered by over 100 people.
"She was just a bubbly personality. Anytime you're depressed or sad she would talk to you," Wiltrout's friend Justine McNemar said.
Wiltrout would have been a junior at Connellsville Area High School. Classes start on Monday.
"I honestly don't believe that she's gone because I keep feeling like I'm going to walk into school tomorrow and she's going to be there," McNemar said.
Wolfe was a mechanic .and a dreamer.
"He was going to get a boat and live on the ocean as soon as could and Kayla wanted to go with him," Wolfe's younger sister, Kassy Schultz, said.
"I'm crushed right now. He would do anything for anybody. Take the shirt off of his own back. Just that kind of person," Wolfe's older brother, Robert Smith, said.
Tire tracks on Breakneck Road are a reminder of what happened Thursday afternoon.
Police say Wolfe was traveling at a high-rate of speed when he lost control at the intersection and hit a tree.
During the vigil, friends and family had the chance to say some words.
"Tyler was my older brother. I really looked up to him," Wolfe's younger sister, Danni Schultz, said.
"That's what helps you through is other people's memories of them. It's all we got left," Wolfe's mother, Sherry Schultz, said.
"He was always protecting me no matter where I was," Wolfe's niece, Bailey Manzella, said.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help both families with funeral expenses.
Their funerals are taking place later this week.
