Community Mourning Delmont Man Killed In Skiing Accident

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- To say Jeffery Behr was involved in his community is an under-statement. The shock and loss of the man is still being felt by many who knew and loved him.

Jeffery Behr's life ended on the slopes at Seven Springs after a violent collision with a juvenille skier over the weekend.

While his life would end in the mountains, one of the things the 51-year-old father will be remembered for his is efforts on the baseball fields.

Behr who was a multi-sport athlete in his youth and served as president of the Delmont Area Atheletic Association.

Behr's friends and family told KDKA the father of three and husband was fair, kind and "larger than life."

Behr was also active in his church and Franklin Regional High School athletics where his children are current students.

At the time of the accident, he was wearing a helmet. State police continue the investigation.
