Community Constructs Banner Of Support For Franklin Regional

MURRYSVILLE (KDKA) -- The Murrysville community continues to heal in the wake of Wednesday's stabbing rampage at Franklin Regional High School.

Thousands signed a banner Saturday afternoon in support of the students and the victims of the attack.

The banner will be hung near the high school's entrance to greet students when they return.

"The turnout has been tremendous. The way people who are strangers a week ago are now embracing one another," said Michelle McFall, one of the organizers.

"The intention is that the kids come back, not to a crime scene, but that they come back to their school and they see a banner with literally thousands of names of people who live here, of people all over the country who are alumni, just to let them know, we love you and it going to be okay," McFall added.

The community also raised money for the We Are FR Fund. It will help the victims pay their out of pocket expenses.

If you didn't a chance to sign the banner Saturday, it will also be available Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. along Route 22 in Murrysville.
