Community Activist Facing Harassment Charge After Brawl At Pittsburgh Gas Station

PITTSBURGH (KDKA)--A community activist is facing charges.

Forty-six-year-old Amber Sloan from Pittsburgh is charged with misdemeanor harassment for a video she posted on Facebook.

According to the criminal complaint, her video made a threat against Scott Hill. He is one of the three gas station employees facing simple assault charges for his role in fight between the employees and two African-American women customers.

The video begins with Sloan asking for people to come out and support the protest and informing her viewers that her main page was blocked.

Police said Sloan identifies herself in the video.

About three minutes in, she said what is listed in the criminal complaint as the threat against Hill.

"I put up a post and said two people shot out in Homewood today. All these killers out here, we need some of y'all out here. Y'all should be hunting down that white man Scott hill and killing him. If y'all want to do something, but yeah it wasn't nothing bad. Ya know so I'm blocked out from my main page."

Investigators took the video to the on-duty assistant district attorney. They were advised that harassment would be the correct charge.

Officers informed Hill of the video. He said he was aware, and he is afraid to stay in his own home.

Sloan has a preliminary hearing on November 7th for the harassment charge in Pittsburgh Municipal Court.

Neither Sloan or her attorney responded to our request for a comment.
