College Football Expert Bruce Feldman Talks Pitt Head Coaching Search

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Fox Sports College Football Expert Bruce Feldman joined the Starkey and Mueller Show to talk about Pitt's search for their next head coach and said the firing of Athletic Director Steve Pederson will go a long way in bringing in a good coach.

"His reputation among coaches is not very good," Feldman said about Pederson. "If you're hiring somebody, and I'll use the example of Greg Schiano, he's a guy that I'm not sure they would have had a chance to even get serious consideration from if Steve Pederson was the boss. Steve Pederson is out and I think that Greg Schiano becomes a viable candidate here now."

Feldman also talked about the type of coach Pitt will be looking for in their replacement for Paul Chryst.

"One thing I think they have to find is a guy, and every school can say this, but with Pitt it really is true, you can't get some guy who isn't looking at this job to say, 'Hey, I'm going to be there at least six years,' and I'm not talking about being there 30 years," Feldman said. "You got to get a guy who plans on at least being there throughout the duration of at least a recruiting cycle."
