City's Pothole Blitz Begins Monday
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The city will work to repair potholes this week as part of a three-day "Pothole Blitz."
The work was originally scheduled for this past week, but was cancelled due to the weather.
Starting Monday morning the Department of Public Works will repair the potholes Pittsburgh residents have been complaining about.
"Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – basically the last three days, we get hot mixed asphalt for the city streets," said Chief Operations Officer Guy Costa. "So what we want to do is do the splits and ask people to call the 311 number, if they haven't already, so we can respond to it in the next three days."
This week's forecast should be perfect for crews to fix the holes.
About 30 trucks will hit the streets over the next few days.
They'll be focusing on many secondary streets. Costa says many of the city's main roads have been well tended.
Residents are asked to call 311 and report any potholes.
