Child Struck By Stolen Vehicle While At North Side Birthday Party

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A child was injured when he was struck by a stolen SUV Friday evening in Pittsburgh's North Side section.

The accident happened just after 7 p.m. in the 1700-block of Brighton Road.

According to officials at the scene, the child was at a birthday party when he was struck. He was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Pittsburgh Police say the 3-year-old boy suffered a broken leg when he ran out into the street and was hit by the Ford Escape.

The man driving the SUV was taken into police custody.

Pittsburgh Police identify him as Aaron Touchstone. He's in his 20s.

Police say he will face charges over the stolen vehicle, but did not appear to responsible in the accident.

Authorities reportedly found marijuana, according to reports from the scene.
