Chase Ends When Suspect Becomes Trapped In Creek

CASTLE SHANNON (KDKA) -- A chase suspect had to be rescued this morning when he became trapped in a creek in Castle Shannon.

It all started around 11 a.m. on Saw Mill Run Boulevard near Edgebrook Avenue.

Authorities say a Pittsburgh motorcycle officer pulled the suspect over for a routine traffic stop.

But then the suspect got out of his SUV and ran down to the nearby creek where he got stuck.

An employee of a nearby auto business provided a ladder so the man could climb out of the creek.

The suspect is now facing charges including drug possession.
