Charges Dropped Against Women In Funeral Home Brawl

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Charges were dropped Thursday against two women accused of throwing punches at a funeral home. Both women involved refused to testify against one another.

Tracy Schweitzer, a 28-year police veteran, was accused of brawling with her aunt Suzanne Troy at a funeral home in Beechview last Friday.

Schweitzer's attorney says the aunt wasn't supposed to be there.

"She has been estranged from the family for about 12 or 14 years. There was a specific annotation in the living will of the deceased that this person not be present," said attorney Lee Rothman.

Tensions got worse when the aunt was accused of "lifting her dress"and telling Schweitzer "to kiss her a**!"

"That person made some sort of vulgar gesture in the funeral home and it caused tensions," Rothman said.

So it all ended up in city court Thursday, where a Pittsburgh police officer was put in the unusual position of taking the fifth.

Schweitzer is currently on paid administrative leave. Her aunt is expected to be released from the Allegheny County Jail soon.
