CCAC Investigating Chemicals Missing From Chemistry Lab

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are investigating after some chemicals went missing from the Community College of Allegheny County.

Officials at CCAC say somebody removed chemicals from a chemistry lab in the K. Leroy Science Center.

It's estimated that they were taken sometime between June 30 and July 1.

Officials haven't said specifically which chemicals went missing.

The event has led to increased security measures at the school though.

CCAC officials announced the following safety measures:

-All CCAC employees and students accessing any CCAC building are required to have a valid CCAC ID, and to show it upon request.

-Visitors must sign-in at the CCAC Allegheny Campus Security station located in the Physical Education Building on Legacy Way.

-Individuals seeking admission into the K. Leroy Science Center must show proper ID.

-CCAC is operating a vigilant security presence at the Allegheny Campus.
