Man, Woman Facing Drug Charges After Carrick Standoff

CARRICK (KDKA) -- A man and a woman are facing drug charges after a standoff that sent the SWAT team to Carrick on Monday.

Police say the incident started as a domestic situation just after 3:30 p.m. at a home in the 1600 block of Alplaus Street.

According to Pittsburgh Police, the woman was possibly being held hostage inside the home by the man. The SWAT team and negotiators were called in.

The woman was able to escape safely.

Officials say the man was then brought out of the home around 6:30 p.m., and was taken into custody.

Police say they found drugs inside the home. They arrested both the man and woman, who are now both facing drug charges.

Police continue to investigate.
