1 Killed In Rollover Crash On I-279 In Ross Township

ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -One person was killed in an accident in Ross Township Sunday morning.

According to police, the accident happened along Interstate 279.

Phillip Mays, 28, was driving too fast around a curve and struck a concrete barrier on the left side of the road.

He continued onto the barrier and straddled it until the vehicle hit a concrete utility box. His car came to a rest facing southbound between the underpass wall and barrier.

Ross/West View EMS pronounced Mays dead at the scene.

Officials say his seatbelt was not used and the airbags deployed.
