Car Crashes Into Tree On South Side, Nearly Plunges Into Mon River

SOUTH SIDE (KDKA) –Emergency crews have been called to the South Side after a vehicle struck a tree and nearly went into the Mon River.

According to emergency dispatchers, the accident happened near the Steelers' practice facility and the UPMC building on Water Street around 11:15 a.m.

A Subaru struck a tree near the bike trail and came to rest just shy of the river.

No other details have been released.
