The homeowner heard what he thought was thunder, but soon realized an SUV had crashed into his home.

The vehicle was traveling down Sandy Hill Road when the driver lost control, went airborne, flipped and crashed into the house, causing significant damage to the kitchen.

The homeowner walked outside and called out to the female driver. He quickly realized she needed help.

"I'm yelling in to find out if she's awake, coherent, all that. After a couple seconds, she said, 'Yeah, can you help me get out of the car?' She opens the door and I kind of pull her out. She's a little bit bloody and scratched up, but awake and alive and fairly well," the homeowner said.

The woman was treated for a bloody nose and bumps and bruises.

Penn Township Police are looking into what role, if any, speed or alcohol may have played in the crash.

The homeowner said the crash caused nearly $100,000 in damage and the family won't be able to live there for a couple of months.
