Cam Heyward: Key To Defense Is Being On Same Page
PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- Bob Pompeani was joined Saturday by Steelers defensive end Cam Heyward.
Pompeani asked what the key for a young defense will be in 2015.
"I think the main thing is having everybody on the same page, with execution, with running to the ball, with getting turnovers. All of that has to be included, and then we can be a good defense," Heyward said. He added that the defense will need to stay healthy as well.
The Steelers open the season at the New England Patriots, who may be without Tom Brady, pending the appeal of his suspension. Does Heyward want to face Brady?
"I want to beat the best," Heyward said. "If he's out there, it doesn't matter to me. I just want to win the game."
Pompeani asked if Heyward is optimistic about the 2015 season.
"You see what we have on offense, we've got a lot of guys in new positions on defense, but the sky's the limit for this team. And it's about realizing our potential and going from there," Heyward said.
