Butler County Restaurant Damaged By Fire

PORTERSVILLE (KDKA)- Fire damaged a Butler County restaurant late Sunday night.

According to officials at the scene, the fire started around 11 p.m. at Brown's Country Kitchen on West Portersville Road in Portersville.

Firefighters say it started in the kitchen.

"The building happened to be right next to the fire department," said Portersville-Muddy Creek Twp. VFD Chief Tim Saunders. "So, it was a quick response and turnout. The firefighters got a pretty good knockdown on it and contained it to the kitchen area."

The chief said the dining room at the restaurant had some smoke and water damage.

Brown's Country Kitchen will be closed on Monday, as crews assess the damage.

At this point, the cause of the fire is unknown, but fire officials do not believe it is suspicious.
