Pedestrian Hit By Semi Truck On I-79 In Butler Co.

LANCASTER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A male pedestrian died after he was struck by a tanker truck along Interstate 79 in Butler County Wednesday night.

According to state police, it happened after 9:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 79 near mile marker 89 in Lancaster Township.

The southbound lanes there had to be shut down. They were reopened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

The male pedestrian, identified by state police as 41-year-old Beau Marquis, was taken to UPMC Passavant-Cranberry where he was pronounced dead.
