Busy Weekend Features Plenty To Do In The City

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It's a busy weekend in the city.

Musician Nick Jonas is in town today for Pittsburgh Pride in the Streets.

Liberty Avenue from 9th to 10th Streets in Downtown Pittsburgh has been shut down for the celebration.

The event is sponsored by the Delta Foundation and Jonas is the headliner.

Event organizers say he called them up and offered to perform after Iggy Azalea canceled her performance over offensive remarks she had made in the past.

"Pride in the Street" begins at 7 p.m. and continues into the night until 1:30 a.m.

Other performers include: DJ Digital Dave, DJ Strobe, Thea Trix, Chance Encounters, and Steel Pan Pittsburgh.

Also, this weekend is a last chance to check out the Three Rivers Arts Festival.

The festival wraps up on Sunday, but there are still a lot of fun events planned for the weekend, including free, live music on the main stage and a break dancing competition Sunday afternoon.

And over on the North Shore today, Pirates fans are packing PNC Park to watch the team take on the Philadelphia Phillies and afterwards there's a FanJam concert featuring Big & Rich.
