Police: 2 Teens Charged, Accused Of Throwing Molotov Cocktail At Buena Vista Pool House, Setting Fire

ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - A fire broke out overnight at a popular public pool in Elizabeth Township, and now two teens are charged in connection.

The Buena Vista Pool, on on Styche Street, is owned by the Buena Vista Volunteer Fire Company.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal's Office was called to the scene of the fire and the fire chief told KDKA the fire is "suspicious."

Allegheny County Police say two juveniles are now facing arson and other charges for the fire.

Elizabeth Township Police report to the Mon Valley Independent that the 13-year-olds were caught on surveillance video. Investigators say they threw a molotov cocktail that struck the bathhouse.

It happened around 3:30 a.m.

The president of the fire department says he wanted to have the pool reopen by the middle of next week, he tells the paper.

The two teens are being held in Shuman Center.
