Buccos Back

The Pirates Home Opener is Monday.

That's great news for two reasons –

One – we can finally put away the snow shovels –

And two – baseball season is finally here.

There's even more buzz for the Bucs this year –

Because of last season.

Pirates fans saw some of the most exciting baseball in decades.

The team did more than break a 20-year losing streak.

Players seemed to have fun doing it.

The Bucs even won a National League Wild Card Playoff Game that let fans dream –

Briefly – about playing deep into October.

They didn't make it to the World Series.

But it doesn't take anything away from an amazing season –

That vindicated die-hard fans –

And created thousands of new ones.

It's going to be harder this season –

Because expectations are a lot higher.

But the players – and the fans – are pumped –

And it's time to "play ball!"

Let's get ready to raise the Jolly Roger!
