BROOKLINE (KDKA) -- Police swarmed a Brookline street Sunday afternoon after a man barricaded himself inside a home.

Officers were sent to the 1500 block of Chelton Avenue just after 5:30 p.m. for a report of a domestic incident.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a female victim who had reportedly been injured by a male suspect.

Police say the male suspect ran back into the house and refused to come out.

A SWAT team and negotiators were called to assist police, but the suspect somehow left the home undetected during the incident.

Police cordoned off several blocks while SWAT team members and patrol officers searched for the individual, but the area was cleared by 8 p.m.

The suspect remains at large. He has not been identified.

The investigation is ongoing.
