Police Investigating Fatal Shooting In Marshall-Shadeland

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in Marshall-Shadeland on Monday night.
According to police, a shooting victim arrived at Allegheny General Hospital by private means just before 8:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Michael Freeman Jr., 30, of Pittsburgh.
Authorities believe Freeman was shot in 3200 block of Brighton Road around 8:20 p.m. Monday night.
Those who knew Freeman say he was a father of two, including a newborn.
"It's just real sad; it's disturbing because everybody thinks that guns solve issues. Talking to a man as a man, that solves way more than a gun," said Raymond Theodore-Bernard, of Marshall-Shadeland.
Residents also worry for their neighbors.
"Of course innocent people can be shot and killed here, because when somebody's shooting, a bullet doesn't have a name," said Theodore-Bernard.
At this point, it's unclear what prompted the shooting, and Pittsburgh Police have not released any sort of description of a suspect.
The investigation is ongoing.
