Boy Who Received Liver Transplant At Children's Hospital Goes Home

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The boy who received a liver transplant at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh has taken a huge step in his recovery.

On Wednesday night, Lucas Goeller went home from the hospital.

His mother posted some pictures on their Save Lucas Facebook page.

His parents say they will have to spend more than seven hours a day giving him IV medicine.

But they say he's eating, playing and talking much more than he has in months.

Since his surgery last month, Lucas has had a rare form of rejection and has had procedures to clear up the infection.

Doctors hope his liver will heal itself over time.
