Boy Injured After Trach Tube Pulled Out By Another Child

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A New Castle boy was hurt when another child pulled out his trach tube Saturday.

Officials say a 13-year-old was babysitting possibly as many as five other children when it happened.

Police say one of the kids may have accidentally pulled a trach tube out of the throat of his 2-year-old brother.

Before paramedics arrived, Police Chief Robert Salem said one of his officer's performed CPR on teh boy.

The child was then flown to a Pittsburgh-area hospital.

No word on his condition.
