PennDOT Reopens Boulevard Of The Allies Ramp To Liberty Bridge

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Boulevard of the Allies ramp to the outbound Liberty Bridge has reopened to traffic.

There is a stop sign where the ramp meets the bridge because deck replacement work is ongoing.

On Sept. 2, a fire damaged an important component of the bridge. As a result, it was closed for about three weeks. It reopened on Sept. 26 with a 9-ton weight limit in place.

Last week, the Liberty Bridge's weight limit was restored to its normal 30 tons.

According to PennDOT, when the entire rehabilitation project on the bridge is completed in 2018, the weight limit could increase to 40 tons.
