Bomb Squad Called After Police Find Man's Body, Strange Bottles Inside Swissvale Home

SWISSVALE (KDKA) -- The bomb squad is investigating some suspicious items found inside a home in Swissvale on Wednesday evening.

A relative of 72-year-old Eugene Miriello called officers asking them to check on him.

When police got there, they found Miriello's body inside the home.

Police say they believe he died of natural causes.

However, they called in the bomb squad after finding something else.

"During the course of the investigation, we also found some bottles, which didn't… we weren't real comfortable with," said Chief Gregory Gerrert, of Swissvale Police. "So we called the bomb squad out just to check that."

Police say the bottles were found in an upstairs bedroom and had wires attached to them.

No homes were evacuated.
