Body Of Missing Man Found In Brighton Heights

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police say a body found near Brighton Heights belongs to an 82-year-old man who went missing a week ago.

A man noticed the body before 10 a.m. Saturday near Millerton Avenue and Ohio River Boulevard, not far from his home.

Police say its the body of Walter Parker, who went missing last Saturday.

The search to find him has been ongoing since he was last seen at the Rivers Casino.

Parker's nephew says the family was out searching for him when they got the call that his body was found.

"We were walking over that side of the river and over that side of the neighborhood. Just walking through the neighborhood asking people to see if they've seen him walking around the neighborhood, 'cause a lot of people did know him, I guess, from the bars and stuff like that," said Buzzy Parker, the missing man's nephew. "He was a good guy. That's all I can say."

He suffered from dementia and macular degeneration.

There's no word yet on how Parker died.

Officials say foul play is not suspected.
