Bob Walk On Pitching Against Elite Pitchers

PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- The Pirates are in the midst of a four-game series at PNC Park with the Washington Nationals.

Saturday night's matchup will feature a pair of No. 1 overall draft picks: the Pirates' Gerrit Cole versus Washington's Stephen Strasburg.

Pirates broadcaster Bob Walk told Colin Dunlap on Bucco Talk that he knows what it's like to go against an ace.

"You do get caught up in thinking about that," Walk said. "You try to fight it. The best way obviously is just to take it like a normal game. You have your job to do. It's not like you guys are really going against each other."

Dunlap and Walk discussed the recent play of Josh Harrison, who has provided a spark in the leadoff spot and playing right field. Walk said that the Pirates have to keep Harrison in the lineup if he maintains his current level of play.

"You've got to find a place for him, because he is too valuable of a player if the Josh Harrison we're watching right now is what he's going to be like," Walk said.
