Bob Walk: Holdzkom Appears Headed Toward 7th Inning Role

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Pirates broadcaster Bob Walk joined "The Fan Morning Show" in his regular weekly spot Wednesday with the Bucs in the midst of a three-game set against the Red Sox.

Walk discussed the performance of reliever John Holdzkom, saying that the key for him will be how he bounces back once he struggles.

"Well, eventually, I think he's going to have that bad outing where probably control ends up jumping up and biting him," Walk said. "What I'm looking for is what does he do then the next time he goes out there?"

Walk thinks that Holdzkom could be headed for a regular role in the bullpen by the time the playoffs roll around.

"He's just looking better and better every time he goes out there. So, until he does show that he can't handle it, it's looking more and more like he is the seventh inning guy," Walk said.

Walk joins "The Fan Morning Show" Wednesdays at 8:40 a.m.
