Bishop David Zubik Preparing For Shoulder Surgery

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Bishop David Zubik is asking for prayers as he prepares for surgery.

Bishop Zubik will undergo surgery today to repair a significant tear in his left shoulder.

In a statement from the Pittsburgh Diocese, Zubik says his doctors tell him he won't be able to use his left arm for six weeks.

It will take Zubik about six to eight months to fully heal.

With a history of back surgeries, Zubik joked that he is "well on the way to becoming a bionic Bishop."
