Man Dies After Motorcycle Crash In Fayette County

FAYETTE COUNTY (KDKA) -- A man died Saturday night after sustaining serious injuries in a crash in Henry Clay Township on Friday afternoon.

The crash happened just after 1:30 p.m. in the 100-block of Big Bend Road.

According to state police, 56-year-old Christopher Swickline was traveling west on Big Bend Road when he lost control of his motorcycle as he was going around a left hand turn on a loose graveled roadway. Swickline was thrown from his motorcycle in the crash. Police say he sustained a severe traumatic brain injury.

Swickline was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. State police say he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead around 4 p.m. Saturday.

State police say the investigation is ongoing.
