Beyoncé Renaissance World Tour Pittsburgh show canceled

Beyoncé fans in Pittsburgh disappointed after show cancellation

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Beyoncé was set to come to Pittsburgh on her Renaissance World Tour in August, but that show is no longer happening.

According to the Acrisure Stadium Twitter account, the show is now canceled due to scheduling and production logistics issues.

"Due to production logistics and scheduling issues, unfortunately the August 3rd Pittsburgh stop of the RENAISSANCEWORLD TOUR will not be taking place. Refunds will automatically be issued at point of purchase. If you have any questions or issues regarding your ticket order, please contact your point of purchase."

According to the Acrisure Stadium website, the only upcoming event that is listed in July and August is Ed Sheeran's Mathematics Tour, which takes place on July 8.

Beyoncé is performing near Pittsburgh around the original concert date. The concert is still taking place in East Rutherford, New Jersey on July 29 and in Washington D.C. on Aug. 5.

"We were all just super disappointed because we like we're looking forward to it," Brianna McLaughlin said.

McLaughlin was at work Wednesday morning when she learned the tour stop in Pittsburgh was canceled.

"I have four sisters and then my mom and we were all going to go and they just like blew up my phone," she said.

Fans questioned why the tour stop was canceled, with neither Live Nation nor Acrisure Stadium expanding on the reasoning. Acrisure said Live Nation Pittsburgh, a live entertainment company, canceled it.

On Twitter, Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey released a statement, saying:

"Pittsburgh — we are deeply disappointed in the news that Beyoncé has canceled her performance on August 3. We were fully prepared to welcome her to Pittsburgh and honor her with an official day recognizing her visit and accomplishments.

"We are in conversations with the promoter for the event in order to gain an understanding about what led to the cancellation, and if there is anything we can do as a city to find a new date or location for her show."
