1 Person Injured In Bethel Park Pedestrian Crash

BETHEL PARK (KDKA) -- One person was injured in a pedestrian accident late Thursday evening in Bethel Park.

Police say the pedestrian was walking on Library Road when the accident happened around 9 p.m. Thursday.

The incident happened near King School Road. Police and firefighters were at the scene for a couple of hours.

Part of Library Road was closed while detectives were investigating and looking for the four-door Chevrolet believed to be involved in the incident.

A shoe could be seen on the road, next to the car. There is no information about the driver.

Initial reports indicated the pedestrian had died, but police have since said that victim is alive. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Allegheny County Police are handling the investigation.

This is the second accident along Route 88, or Library Road, this week.

Early Tuesday morning, three women were killed and another injured in a violent crash that snapped a telephone pole in the 5600 block of Library Road.
