Ben Roethlisberger Earns AFC Offensive Player Of The Week Honors

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - It should come as no surprise that completing 40 of 49 passes for 522 yards and six touchdowns would earn some national attention, and that's exactly what happened for Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Roethlisberger was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 8 after his performance against the Indianapolis Colts.

Roethlisberger's 522 yards were tied for fourth-most in NFL history and he became the first quarterback to record two 500-yard passing games.

The first time Ben did this was against the Green Bay Packers in 2009 when he threw for 503 yards.

This is the tenth time in Roethlisberger's career that he has earned AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors with the last time coming in Week 11 of the 2013 season against the Detroit Lions.
