Crews Battle Fire At Vacant Home In Bellevue

BELLEVUE (KDKA) -- Crews battled a fire at a vacant home in Bellevue on Monday.
It broke out around 3 p.m. on Carson Avenue.
Officials said the home was abandoned and no injuries had been reported.
"The house had been vacant. The owner had been doing some work on it, but currently nobody was living there," Bellevue Police Chief Matt Sentner said.
Firefighters had the blaze under control around 4 p.m., but they remained on the scene to take care of hot spots for a few hours.
The home is a total loss. Officials say the damage is so severe, they may not be able to determine the cause of the fire.
The outbound lanes of Ohio River Boulevard were closed down during the fire fight, while one inbound lane stayed open.

Firefighters had to shut down parts of Ohio River Boulevard again Tuesday afternoon when the fire rekindled. Crews closed one lane of the busy roadway to spray more water on what's left of the house.
The cause remains under investigation.
