Beechview Man Arrested For Possession Of Large Amount Of Marijuana

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police arrested a Beechview man Friday evening after finding 19 large bags of marijuana in his truck.

Police say 40-year-old Garfield Campbell has been arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to deliver.

According to police, around 7:30 p.m. Friday, officers on patrol in Windgap were informed of a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of Chartiers Avenue and Mayfair Street. Police found two men sitting in the truck with the engine on, and they could smell marijuana coming from the truck.

Police say both men consented to be searched. The driver, Campbell, had a small bag of marijuana and $2,050 in cash in his pockets. In the open bed of the truck, police say there was a black gym bag containing 19 large bags of marijuana.

The passenger was not arrested.
