Woman Found Dead After Beechview House Fire, Investigation Underway
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Fire officials are investigating after a woman was found dead following a house fire in the city's Beechview neighborhood Tuesday morning.
Crews were called to the scene on Dagmar Avenue around 7:40 a.m.
Neighbors say they saw smoke pouring out of the upper floors of the structure, but did not see any flames.
According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, the man who lived there had told fire crews he had just gotten home from work when he saw and smelled smoke.
He tried to get into his home, but couldn't make it very far because of flames on the lower floor.
However, he did manage to pull the family dog from the home.

Once firefighters brought the fire under control, they say they found a woman dead on the second floor.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the woman as 45-year-old Suzanne Green.
Neighbors say they are saddened to hear of the loss.
"I'm sorry," said one neighbor. "I pray for the family. It's shocking. It's just totally shocking that there is a death. I didn't expect no death."
Officials have not released the relationship between the man and woman, but neighbors say they have lived together the past couple of years, but mostly kept to themselves.
The Pittsburgh Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the cause of the fire.
