Biden Taps Western Pennsylvania Native To Serve As Acting Surgeon General

BALDWIN, Pa. (KDKA) - A Baldwin High School graduate will become the nation's acting surgeon general.

The Washington Post reports Rear Admiral Susan Orsega has been selected to take the role.

She is an expert on infectious diseases and is currently the director of Commissioned Corps headquarters.

Orsega graduated from Baldwin High School in 1986.

She is expected to be the "nation's doctor" until the Senate confirms surgeon general nominee Vivek Murthy.
