2 Arrested In Connection With Mercer Co. Murder, Robbery

PINE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - State Police in Mercer County have arrested two men in connection with the robbery and murder of a Grove City man.

According to police, 23-year-old Ryan Bowers and 39-year-old Patrick McCamey were arrested Monday night and taken to the Mercer County Jail.

Both are charged with the murder of 60-year old Michael Anthony Johns.

They told police they went to Johns' house late Saturday in Pine Township to buy marijuana.

The next day, a neighbor found Johns dead at his home.

"We believe, at this point, they went with the intentions to rob the victim. During the course of the robbery, there was some sort of altercation," State Police Trooper Brian Morris said.

During that altercation, Johns managed to stab both men. According to the criminal complaint, McCamey says he then got behind Johns and choked him, while Bowers grabbed a knife and stabbed him.

Police said they left the house leaving a trail of blood.

"Both actors were treated for injuries. They were taken to hospitals in Pittsburgh and treated for stab wounds," Trooper Morris said.

McCamey told a relative, who picked him up from Allegheny General Hospital, that he was probably going to prison for a long time.

He told her he was stabbed by a guy who had accused him of stealing marijuana and money from him.

McCamey and Bowers are charged with second and third-degree murder and robbery.

They're being held at the Mercer County Jail with no bond.
