Suspect In Leechburg Double Shooting Turns Himself In To Police

ARMSTRONG COUNTY (KDKA) -- The man accused of shooting two other men has turned himself in to police.

Police say the alleged suspect, 37-year-old Chad Goldstrom of New Kensington, is in custody on Monday night.

According to Pa. State Police, around 3:00 p.m. on Sunday along Market Street in Leechburg, Goldstrom fired multiple shots at two men and hit both of them.

"It's a terrible thing. I hope those men both recover," neighbor Ed Beachler said.

He lives around the corner from the shooting but didn't hear about it until he saw the headlines later.

"It's kind of scary. Obviously," Beachler told KDKA. "It's very infrequent anything happens around here."

Investigators said Goldstrom and the two victims are known to each other. Both of the victims were taken to a Pittsburgh hospital to be treated. According to troopers, one man was shot in the arm. The other victim was shot in the neck and is currently paralyzed from the neck down.

"There must have really been some anger or something. That's just unbelievable," Beachler said.

The Armstrong County District Attorney issued a warrant for Goldstrom's arrest. He is facing charges of criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
