Armstrong Co. Man Prompts Hours-Long Standoff With Police

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are working to get a man to surrender who's been locked in a Washington Township house since Tuesday morning.

Kittanning State Police say he's been in a standoff with police since 10:30 a.m.

The Tribune-Review reports that police are at Old Reesedale Road.

The suspect is 43-year-old Chester E. Croyle, who is wanted on several bench warrants, the newspaper reports.

Officials tell the newspaper that Croyle has made some threats to police and that traffic has been shut down on Johns and Spring roads where they meet Old Reesedale Road.

It's still unclear is Croyle has any weapons.

Stay with KDKA for more information.
