Suspect Sought After Armed Robbery At Waterworks Mall Eat'n Park

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - An armed robber held up the Eat'n Park restaurant at the Waterworks Mall late Sunday night.

Pittsburgh Police say three employees were inside when a man walked into the only remaining unlocked door just before midnight Sunday. An employee was heading into the dining room to lock the door, when he saw the man enter.

With a raspy voice, the man ordered the employee to give him all the money in the safe. The employee led the suspect to the office, where the other two employees were.

Before leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash, police say the suspect pointed his gun at all three workers, then pepper sprayed them in the eyes.

He took off in an unknown direction.

Police are reviewing surveillance video, and determined that the suspect is around 5-feet-2-inches tall and was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes, a black mask, gloves and sunglasses. His race is unknown at this time.

Eat'n Park's spokesman Kevin O'Connell issued this statement:

"We are working closely with police to apprehend the robber. The safety of our team members and guests is our number one priority."

The employees were treated at the scene and were not seriously hurt. The restaurant reopened Monday morning.
