Apple Admits iPhone 7 'Jet Black' Scratches Easily

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Apple unveiled their new iPhone7 and iPhone 7 plus Wednesday and it appears there may already be an issue with one of the phones.

Apple posted a warning on their dedicated iPhone 7 page that the new "jet black" iPhone scratches easily.

The warning says: "The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodization and polishing process. Its surface is equally as hard as other anodized Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone."

Apple doesn't have the same footnote for their other iPhone 7s, including one just called "black."

As you can imagine a lot of Apple fans were upset by the news that the new color of phone could scratch easily.

The new iPhone 7 goes on sale Friday and ships Sept. 16.
