Another Night Of Storms Prompt Flash Flood Warning

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The severe weather at the end of the weekend is not over yet, another night of rain has prompted a Flash Flood Warning for several counties across the area.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Allegheny, Beaver, Washington and parts of Westmoreland County through 3 a.m.

A Flash Flood Warning is also in effect for Indiana and parts of Westmoreland counties through 3:45 a.m.

Also, the entire viewing area is under a Flash Flood Watch through 8 a.m. Tuesday.

In West Virginia, Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, Monongalia and Ohio counties are also under a Flash Flood Watch.

"We're going to see additional activity overnight tonight," Chief Meteorologist Jeff Verszyla said.

He says overnight will be muggy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The wet weather will continue into Tuesday morning.

"Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 8 o'clock [Tuesday] morning and includes the entire viewing area," said Verszyla. "Most of our showers will come overnight, [Tuesday] morning primarily, by the time we get to lunchtime and beyond that threat for showers will be tapering off and we'll likely see some breaks of sunshine and dew points will be coming down [Tuesday] afternoon."

Meanwhile, reports of flooding and damage are coming in from across the area.

In Frazer Township, a landslide was reported on Days Run Road. There is also some flash flooding in West Deer Township in the 2100-block of Saxonburg Boulevard. One driver reportedly became trapped, but was able to get out safely.
