Andy Warhol Bridge Set To Close Monday

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - The anticipated closure of the Andy Warhol Bridge (7th Street) is scheduled to happen on Monday at 9 a.m.

The bridge is closing for repairs, which are anticipated to last until mid-November of 2017.

Allegheny County Public Works Deputy Director Michael Dillon says, "...during Pirates games the Roberto Clemente Bridge will be closing for those events but the 9th Street Bridge - the Rachel Carson Bridge - is right upstream and that's our posted detour for the job..."

A total closure of the bridge is necessary during the early stages of repair work to ensure safety of residents and workers.

All three sister bridges across the Allegheny River should be renovated by 2021.
