An Ode To The Pens

A poem by Dave Crawley

Fans lined the sidewalks, right up to the brink,
Cheering their heroes, the stars of the rink.
The Stanley Cup winners were cheering right back.
A splendiferous day for the gold and the black.

Every fan seems to find somewhere to lodge,
From a chair, to a five level parking garage.
But this Stanley Cup's the unlikeliest yet.
A few months ago, they were not a good bet.

When the Penguins were down, in November or so,
Did anyone realize how far they would go?
This is a team that fought right to the end.
And that's why we are the "champyinz," my friend.
