Beltzhoover Man Dies After Suffering Extreme Burns In Fire

PTTTSBURGH (KDKA) - A Beltzhoover man has died after suffering major burns in a fire.

Firefighters rushed to a home on East Warrington Avenue on Monday afternoon to find Morris Pritchard, 53, engulfed in flames.

The wheelchair-bound Pritchard was found in the kitchen, near the stove. Emergency crews used a fire extinguisher to put the flames out.

Pritchard was reportedly burned on nearly all of his body. He was rushed to the hospital but died from his injuries Tuesday morning, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office.

His family believes that his motorized wheelchair caught on fire, but investigators have not confirmed this.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.
