Allegheny Technologies, Steelworkers Reach Tentative Deal

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- After a six-month long lockout, Allegheny Technologies and United Steelworkers have reached a tentative deal.

Fran Arabia, the president of United Steelworkers Local 1196, confirmed Monday night that the United Steelworkers' bargaining committee reached an agreement with ATI to end the Steelworkers' lockout.

There is no confirmation on how long the contract would last.

The lockout has affected 2,200 workers since Aug. 15 of last year. Workers were locked out of 12 plants in Pennsylvania and five other states.
