County police announce arrest, charges in January shooting that left 19-year-old dead

An arrest has been made after a 19-year-old was shot and killed in Wilkinsburg earlier this year. 

According to the Allegheny County Police Department, the suspect was identified as 17-year-old Kahlil Valcin. 

Valcin is facing multiple charges, including homicide and possession of a firearm by a minor. 

He turned himself in at Pittsburgh Municipal Court on Wednesday and is now housed at the Allegheny County Jail.

The Allegheny County Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting in Wilkinsburg.

Allegheny County 911 was notified of a man found dead in the 1000 block of Ross Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

First responders found the unidentified man on the sidewalk with a single gunshot to the upper torso, according to a news release from county police.

An investigation is ongoing.
