Disabled Rail Car Forces Outbound T To Be Redirected

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - All outbound rails on the T were temporarily deviated to the Allentown line to avoid the Mt. Washington Tunnel where a rail car was stuck.

The Pittsburgh Port Authority rerouted the outbound T line to Allentown, and in a Tweet, said they expected delays.

During the reroute, Port Authority advised passengers who board an outbound car to Station Square to transfer to an inbound car at South Hills.

The change in routes was caused by a rail car that was stuck in the Mt. Washington Tunnel due to an air leak.

The disabled rail car created the changes at 10 a.m., but they were resolved about 40 minutes later.
